The Last Decade

It was 10 years ago we had our first turning decades party.  Dana was 50 and I turned 60. Dana was (and still is) running the Residency Program at Seton/Dell.  I was working at Austin Energy as the special assistant to the General Manager for Energy Development.

Today, as we plan and look forward to our 130th Birthday, Dana is still at Dell, but changes are on the horizon. After leaving Austin Energy, I served as Chairman of the Resource Generation Task Force for the City of Austin and also as Chairman of the Electric Utility Commission for the City.

Now, I am Chairman of the Texas Electric Transportation Resource Alliance, still working to make our city, our state, a model for affordable climate change mitigation, all the while knowing that we are way past mitigation only now.

The world's climate scientists tell us that the next 10 years are critical if we are to avoid calamity.

Otherwise, as Willie says,  The Party's Over.
