Getting Here

September 21st is just about here.

If it all possible, we recommend that you taxi, uber, lift, ride, bus, bike, or walk.

There is always parking but it's going to be a busy Saturday Night.

The public parking at the bottom right is on 22 1/2 between Pearl and Rio Grande.

Enter at the Purple Pin location below.  The Party is the Red Pin.

If you exit from the west side elevators, you are only 250 feet from the Party.

Please come at eight, and don't be too late.  Dinner starts at 8:30 and Kimmie will start at nine.

Of course, come when you can no matter what the time.

We'll probably go late with Beth and the Breakups so don't be bashful about coming after 10:00.

So see you this Saturday, September 21st at 909 W 23rd Street.

Turning Decades 2.0

Please Come Join Dana and I as we celebrate the turning of another decade together.

We are real pleased to have Kimmie Rhodes and her son Gabe.
They will start about 8:30 or so, don't be late.  We'll have lots of great food and drinks.
Then we'll finish out the evening with Beth Lee and the Breakups.

You can park in the public parking at 22 1/2 and Pearl.  It is just a block away.
Don't try to use Rio Grande or Pearl to get to the House.  They are both closed.
Call a ride service to avoid frustration.

The Last Decade

It was 10 years ago we had our first turning decades party.  Dana was 50 and I turned 60. Dana was (and still is) running the Residency Program at Seton/Dell.  I was working at Austin Energy as the special assistant to the General Manager for Energy Development.

Today, as we plan and look forward to our 130th Birthday, Dana is still at Dell, but changes are on the horizon. After leaving Austin Energy, I served as Chairman of the Resource Generation Task Force for the City of Austin and also as Chairman of the Electric Utility Commission for the City.

Now, I am Chairman of the Texas Electric Transportation Resource Alliance, still working to make our city, our state, a model for affordable climate change mitigation, all the while knowing that we are way past mitigation only now.

The world's climate scientists tell us that the next 10 years are critical if we are to avoid calamity.

Otherwise, as Willie says,  The Party's Over.

Eliza and Greezy Confirmed

We're so jazzed to have Eliza Gilkyson and Greezy Wheels confirmed for the party. Eliza is Dana's favorite and Greezy was the house band way back in the Armadillo daze. And, we're working on at least one more very special guest.

And, as of tonight, I think we've got our little poster handout.

Hope to see you on September 5th.
